Spring begins in March for us! Our trees and bushes start blooming and by April are in their full glory!
In March, Pilgrimage starts for both of our garden clubs. If you have never traveled to Natchez for this event you are missing out. In the spring 100s of our historic homes open their doors to the public.
The Natchez garden club does a traditional month long schedule with several different home rotating open times for viewing during the week. The Pilgrimage garden club does a consolidated two week event filled extravaganza of southern themed events. There is an antique forum, a fish fry, guided private cemetery tours, skits, songs and dances told from the free blacks perspective, just to name a few of the events packed into these two weeks.
We also have Junkin on the River in the spring where you can stroll or drive several miles of antique shops, open air flee markets and hand made goods vendors for the weekend.
We have our annual golf tournament here in Natchez and several car shows too. There really is something for everyone!
And as the weather really warms and our days get sunny and long, we have live music at locations all over town on Fridays and Saturdays, strolls along the downtown River Walk and incredible sunsets over the Mississippi.
